Doctors and Parks Join Forces on National ParkRx Day

Parks, communities and healthcare providers are joining forces across the country to celebrate the second annual National ParkRx Day (ParkRx Day) Sunday, April 23…and they want you to join!

Doctors are now prescribing outdoor activity more frequently as a way to combat many Americans’ sedentary lifestyle, and the health problems that come with it. ParkRx Day is a special occasion encouraging people everywhere to take advantage of all the physical and mental health benefits that come with active fun outdoors on America’s public lands and waters. More than 30 local, state and national parks are already hosting events in 2017, with more signing up every day. To find an event near you, click here. ParkRx Day is part of the National ParkRx Initiative, which is co-led by representatives from the National Recreation and Park Association, the Institute at the Golden Gate, and the National Park Service’s Healthy Parks Healthy People.
