The American Recreation Coalition is pleased to welcome Marti Allbright, Executive Director of Take Pride in America, as our special guest at the February Recreation Exchange. Ms. Allbright is responsible for leading this partnership initiative to increase volunteer service on America’s public lands and connect Americans to their outdoor legacy.
Prior to being named Executive Director of Take Pride in America by Interior Gale Norton in June 2003, Ms. Allbright spent two years as senior counsel at Brownstein, Hyatt and Farber in Colorado where her areas of expertise included endangered species act regulations, telecommunications, and federal and local land use policy. She also served as Secretary Norton’s transition chief of staff in the early days of the Bush Administration after spending two years as General Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, serving as Colorado’s Chief Deputy Attorney General under then-Attorney General Norton, and spending nearly 20 years in private practice. While in private practice, she worked extensively on environmental policy and water rights. Ms. Allbright began her public service with the Park R-3 Board of Education in Estes Park, Colorado in 1991. She holds a J.D. degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of Denver.
We invite you to join us on February 23rd, as Ms. Allbright discusses the 2005 Take Pride in America Work Plan and opportunities for organizations to customize Take Pride in America programs to their own needs.
Please call us at 202-682-9530 or send an e-mail to email@example.com by noon on February 22nd to let us know your plans.
This event is open to Recreation Exchange Subscribers, ARC members and guests.
