Take Pride in America has made amazing progress since Interior Secretary Norton announced the program’s relaunch in April 2003. Every state has officially joined the program. Take Pride cities are being designated. More than 100 Charter Partners have lent their support. Scores of volunteer events have been held, with more scheduled every day. The Take Pride Volunteer Guide is being distributed across the country. Clint Eastwood has agreed to reprise his role as a Take Pride national spokesman. The names of millions of Americans interested in volunteering on public lands are being organized into a database to help land managers access this army of friends. And the recipients of the second round of national awards are about to be announced.

With so many opportunities available to expand Take Pride and increase its contributions to our national well-being, it’s time to take a good look at those opportunities and determine how best to help Take Pride grow. On September 22nd, supporters of Take Pride in America are invited to attend a special forum on the future of this important program. Sponsored by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and moderated by RVIA President Dave Humphreys, this special Recreation Policy Forum will welcome Marti Allbright, Take Pride’s Executive Director, to help guide our discussions.
